Deacon Michael was ordained to the Order of Deacon in 1993. Previously he served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps until his retirement in 1988. Following his retirement, he served 14 years in full-time parish based ministry as a Pastoral Associate, Director of Religious Education, and finally as a Pastoral Administrator.
After leaving his position as administrator in September 2002, Michael founded ‘Gates’ in the Dansville – Wayland area, which is an ecumenical healing ministry, especially for those without medical insurance or the financial resources necessary for the care they require. He maintains offices on Main Street in Wayland, and at the Free Methodist Church in Dansville. He is presently completing a Doctor of Ministry degree in Formational Counseling at Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio.
Michael was appointed as deacon at Holy Family Catholic Community in December 2003. He also serves as a Minister at Large in association with the Dansville Area Ministerial Association. Additionally, Michael teaches at St. Bernard’s School of Theology and Ministry in Rochester. He and Monette have been married for 35 years. They have five adult children and four grandchildren. They reside in Springwater, New York. |
